This year we have really embraced that "Christmas is a season, not just a day." Actually, we've been celebrating since Thanksgiving and I've been Christmas shopping since October. (I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not). Max is really excited about Christmas this year, so I tried to pack as many fun things in this year as I could. Here are a few of the fun things we've been doing this past month...
We used to love when Mom and Dad took us looking at Christmas lights when we were kids, so I made sure to carry on the tradition. Twice, we got hot cocoa, and drove around town looking at the beautiful lights. Max loved them, but I think I loved them more.
We saw Santa 3 times this year and he didn't cry once. That's a big improvement from last year. When I asked him what he was going to tell Santa to bring him, he said, "I want cake." Clearly the boy has a sweet tooth. Needless to say, we had cake on Christmas Day (for that reason and also to celebrate Jesus's birthday).
Santa came to Old Natchez Country Club to see the kids and we all went to see him and then have breakfast together. The kids were so cute!
After breakfast, Santa's elves made them balloon animals. Max got a reindeer.
Getting all the kids to sit still at one time and look in our general direction was a small miracle.
Max and Walker wore their Christmas pi's to their Mother's Day Out Christmas Party. They had such a fun day!
Max is obsessed with touching Mommy's Christmas tree and the ornaments, so we decided to make Max his own Christmas tree. He thought it was fun to decorate it.
Daddy and Max's new favorite is to pop popcorn and drink hot cocoa while watching a movie after dinner.
He LOVES suckers, so he felt like he hit the jackpot with this one.
We made our first gingerbread house together. My expectations were pretty low, but it actually turned out great and Max thought it was so fun. When we were done, and everyday since, he loves to pick icing and candy off the house and eat it. He's completely obsessed with it.
He ate so much of the candy when we made it that he went crazy wild (check out his face in the photo). That's how he acted too!
Mimi has been wanting to take Max and Tressa Kate to their first movie for a long, long time. So, this weekend we all went to see, Frozen. It was the cutest movie and both kids made it all the way through the movie. We never thought they would make it, but they did great and loved it!
Both kids got their own popcorn, fruit snacks, and a drink. What a treat, Mimi!
