Fall Fun at the Park and WALKING!

Fall is my favorite time of year, and October, in particular, is my favorite month. The weather is perfect,  the leaves are beautiful and there are so many fun family things to do. Max and I decided to take a trip to the park by ourselves last week just to play in the leaves and walk around the park and enjoy the gorgeous weather. I took my camera along and we had a little photo shoot.

By the way, I forgot to mention that Max started walking on October 22. He waited until he was 15 months old to do it, but once he decided he was ready, there has been no more crawling. I think he's definitely going to have a "Type A" personality. He completely refused to practice walking with us. Instead, he wanted to wait until he was absolutely sure he could do it on his own, and do it well before he tried it. Last Monday he transferred between two chairs and took 2 steps on his own. Then I said, "Max, when are you going to start walking?" I told him to stand up and he did. Then he took 6 steps on his own. Then 6 more, then 10, and off he went. He was so excited and proud himself that he practiced walking all day. Once he started, he was done with crawling. I guess all I had to do was ask.

So, Max was really excited to walk all around the park by himself and play in the leaves. We made piles of leaves and he rolled around in them and had a blast. I wish I could remember being this young and being so amazed at all the simple things in life. What fun it would be to remember seeing so many new things everyday. We had so much fun at the park enjoying the spectacular weather and each other's company. He even cried when we left because he was having so much fun. What a special day!

Family Fun at Gentry Farm

We took Max to the pumpkin patch at Gentry Farm last weekend for a little fun family outing. He was in sort of a serious mood, but we had fun taking photos of him and walking around the grounds. There is so much to do including picking pumpkins, going on a hayride, visiting the animals, walking through the corn mazes, and playing on the John Deer toy tractors.

The Bailey family joined us and the boys had fun playing with pumpkins and seeing new things

There's nothing like seeing a boy on his tractor!

Walker graciously gave Max a goldfish at dinner and then they both cracked up laughing

The following photos are showing what a difference a year makes...

Max was only about 3 months old last year when we visited Gentry Farms.

15 Months Old

Max is now 15 months old. He weighs 22 pounds and 8 ounces and is more fun than ever. I truly enjoy hanging out and playing with him every single day. He's learning new things so quickly right now. This month, he's learned how to climb up on the sofa, use a fork, play with new toys, say new words, follow simple commands, and stand on his own. He's even taken a step or two on his own. His vocabulary is really increasing fast and he constantly tries to say new words. His favorite part of every day is when Daddy comes through the door; they love to wrestle. He also enjoys crawling around the yard and taking walks around the neighborhood in the stroller. Another big milestone is that he finally gave up his bottles and is now drinking milk from his cup.

He loves Pal's tractor

He's not walking yet but loves to nearly run behind his train

Dede and Pop brought him his first dump truck when they came to visit. He loves it!

"This is my model pose."

One of his favorite things right now is to go through my tupperware. He loves to use the funnel like a horn.

Max taught Walker how to play the horn too.

Another favorite is climbing in and out of the warming drawer.

Max loved visiting with and showing off for Great Grandmama when she came in town for the Heart Walk. He even gave her a kiss.

Being silly with Daddy and trying on his glasses.

Max really loves reading books right now.

Max loves playing with Daddy. Max showed Daddy how to play a horn.

I love my SWEET boy!

Max adores George! He stood on his own for the first time while playing with George at Mimi and Pal's house.

Wrestling with Mimi

Max brought Mimi a book and climbed into her lap so she would read it to him.

Max kissing himself in the mirror chest; he loves to look at himself in the mirror.

Sweet boy! He loves to be tickled!

And he still loves to swing
