AHA Faces of Heart Fest at the Zoo

This was our 3rd year participating in the AHA Faces of Heart Fest at the Zoo. We always really enjoy this event as it honors survivors and families of heart disease and stroke and also helps encourage people to participate in the upcoming Heart Walk. Tyler was asked to speak at the event this year and do the introduction. He did an amazing job and I was so proud of him. After talking a little about why the Heart Walk is so important and what the event means to our family, he welcomed and introduced Beth Frankenburg. She and her husband are chairmen for the Heart Walk this year. We met them 3 years ago, right after the Heart Walk and they are very special to our family.

Having fun with Daddy looking at the animals

The elephants were his favorite

I thought it was really cool walking through the kangaroo exhibit. We didn't get to pet any of them, but you could get really close to them.

Max got a tiger painted on his arm and he thought that was so cool!

"Look at my tiger, Mommy!"

A group photo of several of the survivors at the event

Singing one of his favorite songs on the radio right now while we drove home. It was a really fun, family day.
